UPDATE 9/12/06: The Public Information Committee members have developed a one page fact sheet about how nuclear power is beneficial in a diverse energy portfolio. This fact sheet emphasizes nuclear’s ability to produce reliable baseload power with a low amount of greenhouse emissions. The fact sheet can be viewed in the following article.
The PI committee is planning on developing a series of fact sheets with the aim of providing objective information about hot nuclear topics. The next fact sheet - Nuclear Safety - covers the different ways that our industry’s emphasis on safe operation, risk-informed decision making, and improved communication ensures that nuclear power is a safe means of generating electricity. The Nuclear Safety fact sheet should be released shortly and will be available to download.
