YGN Response Published in Observer

The Public Info Commitee submitted a response to the Matthew Auer August 21 opinion piece from the Charlotte Observer entitled: “Nuclear power plants offer one-stop shopping for terrorists.” This is a great example of the Carolina NA-YGN speaking out and engaging the public. National YGN Survey

Update 9/12/06: Thanks to all those who participated in the National NA-YGN Communications Survey! The survey is now closed and a committee, which includes several of our local chapter members, is currently working on compiling the data. The final analysis will be released at the National ANS Winter Meeting this November and will also be available on the NA-YGN website. The survey results will cover the starting salaries of young professionals in the nuclear industry along with their raises and benefits, work history, and training. These results will help attract and retain young professionals to the nuclear industry.

Spokesperson Training - In Review

Update 9/12/06: The Spokesperson Training Workshop was a success! This training was held on August 16, 2006 and was a half-day workshop which taught you how to present your arguments while “keeping your cool” in a debate, anti-nuclear press conference, or other high-pressure environment.
