The next four-site meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, March 8 from 8:30 to 3:30. The agenda is packed full of Professional Development opportunities. We will have an update on the company’s goals for the next ten years, a panel discussion by managers and technical specialists on how they moved through their careers, information on the Personal Development Plan, and a team building activity. Please accept the meeting invitation sent out earlier if you plan on attending so that we can plan for enough food. As always, ask your supervisor for permission to attend.

Janelle Penisten has recently received a NA-YGN Excellence Award. International YGN awards are very selective and the Carolina Chapter is proud that they chose Janelle. Working in the Nuclear Industry: A Symposium at the University of South Carolina

The goal of the symposium to let the students know that the nuclear industry hires more than just nuclear engineers. The Department of Energy is holding a series of Public Comment Workshops on the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership. The only one occurring in the Carolinas is Thursday, Feb. 15 in Augusta, NC from 6:00-9:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for PI members to promote nuclear power! Please contact Sarah Chisholm if you plan on attending so that we can orchestrate a game-plan going into the workshop.
The format is to break those in attendance into small workshops each headed by a DOE representative. Comments during the meeting will be considered in preparing the GNEP Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement. More information here.
